This was a good event…Salute to Clever Speaks, The Universal Zulu Nation, Occupy the Hood Hampton Roads and all the organizations that came out to support. I saw a flyer that Niledge tweeted about the event on Wed..called him up and wanted to get Fresh Radio and 103 Jamz involved to help spread the word about the event and get more people out to hear and be educated on the Trayvon Martin situation as well as what’s going on in our own community!

Alot of backlash from 103 Jamz just did it for publicity to we took over the event. Had a long talk with Clever from Clever Speaks about it to ensure her that I got the stations involved to get the word out. Local news came out even CNN…and of course their focus was just to get the news story and didn’t cover who was actually putting the event together. So for people who felt there was other intentions…smh that’s all I can do. I agree that 103 could do alooooot more in the community and we do stuff but it’s never enough…we need to be out more but when we do go out we still get frowned upon (I always wanted to type frowned upon). Fresh Radio actually is sponsoring Hoops 4 Hope…more details coming soon!
